The original parent company was founded in 1918 by the late Joseph Borg, who was one of the first pioneers to commence trade in the cold storage business, storing frozen meats and other food products.

In the late 50's, the first consignments of frozen products were imported. Due to a change in national legislation in the mid 60's, a partnership was formed called Valhmor Borg & Co., which ran a cold store and imported frozen products. In 1975, Valhmor Borg Import/Export Ltd., was formed and handled the importation side of the business.

The main activity of the company is dealing in frozen foodstuffs. Supplies are acquired both through imports and local purchases. The products purchased are then sold to the catering, wholesale and retail trade, delivered by a fleet of refrigerated trucks.

The company presently operates from Pinto Cold Stores.

Primary imports are frozen products such as meats, poultry, fish, seafood, vegetables, fruits, prepared foods, ready-to-eat meals as well as dairy products and wine.

The customer base includes most top hotels, restaurants and retail outlets. The company also trades in contract catering to government departments and hospitals and caters for military, cruise and cargo ship requirements.

Pinto Cold Stores Ltd., is a full service public cold storage warehousing company in Malta (Europe), an island geographically situated at the cross roads of all shipping sea lanes in the Mediterranean sea. Ideally positioned to service both domestic and international markets, the cold store is conveniently located along the quayside and is minutes away from the only natural harbour in the region.

Established in 1998, Miracle Foods Ltd., is a new company that presently owns and operates seven retail outlets around the Maltese Islands. The company's main activity is the supply of quality frozen food products, provided by Valhmor Borg Import/Export Ltd.

The present outlets, in Attard, Marsa, Qormi, Mellieha, Naxxar, Bugibba, Swieqi, Zabbar and Gozo, offer a wide variety of products, which are conveniently packed for the domestic consumer and sold at wholesale prices.
